Filipino standout April Osenio, a Philippine national Wushu champion and a ONE Championship atomweight contender, has added another feather to her cap. Along with three other Team Lakay colleagues, Osenio graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Criminal Justice Education at the University of Cordilleras In Baguio City last September 1 . According to Osenio, it was an accomplishment on her part to disprove the stereotype that prizefighters do not put a premium on education. “Pursuing your passion in martial arts is not a hindrance in securing your future through education,” she stated. “It is also a way of breaking the stigma that fighters have in our society. Ben Askren Stops Shinya Aoki to Retain ONE Welterweight World Championship

In the main event of ONE: IMMORTAL PURSUIT,  ONE Welterweight World Champion Ben “Funky” Askren of the United States left an indelible mark in what was billed as the last bout of his illustrious martial arts career, defeating Japanese legend Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki by way of first-round technical knockout. It only took Askren 57 seconds to retain the most prestigious award in ONE Championship’s welterweight division. Askren effortlessly secured the stoppage after Aoki pulled his American counterpart into his patented guard, giving the champion an opening to unleash heavy blows with ease. As Aoki started to cover up to defend himself, Askren relentlessly poured down a barrage of solid punches that left the referee with no other choice but to call a halt to the championship clash. Ben Askren, ONE Welterweight World Champion, stated: “I think this is it. If I get the opportunity to prove I’m number one, then I’ll take the opportunity. I don’t need any more money. I just w...

A tough test awaits Roy “The Dominator” Doliguez in his third trip to the ONE Championship cage this 2017, but the Filipino veteran believes that he will be the roadblock to Joshua Pacio’s re-entry to the winner’s column. Doliguez squares off with a fellow former world title contender like Pacio on the undercard of ONE: LEGENDS OF THE WORLD, which takes place at the 20,000-capacity SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines on Friday, 10 November . Pacio is being touted by numerous cageside pundits as one of the most promising competitors in the sport today, owning an impressive 9-2 professional record with five wins by submission and three by knockout.
