Jr. NBA All Star Thirdy Ravena Inspires Newest Batch of Jr. NBA Aspirants

Jr. NBA All-Star (2011) Thirdy Ravena engages the National Training Camp participants of the Jr. NBA Philippines 2018 presented by Alaska on their first training day with NBA player Willie Cauley-Stein of the Sacramento Kings. The league’s global youth basketball participation program for boys and girls that teaches fundamental skills and the core values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude and Respect, is now in the process of selecting the newest All-Stars of Jr. NBA Philippines 2018 presented by Alaska. WNBA Hall of Famer and 3-time MVP Sheryl Swoopes is also in Manila for the Jr. NBA Philippines program. The top eight boys and eight girls who will follow the footsteps of previous All-Stars like Kobe Paras, Ricci Rivero, Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena, Kib Montalbo, Kai Sotto and Aljon Mariano, will be announced today (Sunday, May 20) at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. *This is Press Release

Jr. NBA Philippines 2018 Continues Search for Talented Young Ballers Nationwide

Jr. NBA coaches led by Coach Carlos Barroca were assisted by 2016 Jr. NBA All-Star and Alaska Ambassador Julian Alfonso Jugo who facilitated drills at various skills stations of the Jr. NBA Regional Selection Camp.   More than 1,100 young ballers aged 10-14 from the North Luzon region travelled to Benguet State University to showcase their skills and secure a slot in the National Training Camp of Jr. NBA Philippines 2018 presented by Alaska from May 18-20.    Jugo shared his valuable experience with the Jr. NBA aspirants, inspiring the campers to excel on and off the court. The fourth and final Regional Selection Camp this year will be staged April 21-22 at Don Bosco Technical Institute in Makati, Metro Manila.

21 Youth to Represent NCR in Jr.NBA Philippines 2017 National Training Camp

Eight boys and thirteen girls will represent Metro Manila during the Jr. NBA Philippines 2017 presented by Alaska National Training Camp on May 12-14 at the Don Bosco Technical Institute and SM Mall of Asia. Over 1,300 young players ages 10-14 years old participated in the fourth and final Regional Selection Camp of the Jr. NBA program held this weekend at Don Bosco Makati. The 1,333 campers --1,208 boys and 125 girls -- came from schools in Antipolo, Mandaluyong, Manila, Makati, Batangas, Palawan, Mindoro and Iloilo. Last Regional Selection Camp for Jr.NBA Philippines 2017 Presented by Alaska at Don Bosco Makati this Weekend

The fourth and last regional selection camp for Jr. NBA Philippines 2017 presented by Alaska will be held at Don Bosco Technical Institute in Makati on Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2, 2017 starting at 9 a.m. This is the last chance for young ballers in the NCR and other provinces to participate in the National Basketball Association’s youth development program that has been touring different key cities and towns since January this year. Boys and girls aged 10 to 14 are invited to participate in the learn-and-achieve camp that will test their physical and basketball smarts through NBA style skills tests and basketball drills. They will also learn the STAR values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude and Respect. Jr. NBA Philippines 2017 presented by Alaska holds its regional selection camp for the Visayas this weekend at Don Bosco Technology Center at Pleasant Homes Subdivision, Buhisan Rd., Cebu City from March 11 to 12, 2017. Boys and girls aged 10 to 14 are invited to participate in a learn-and-achieve camp that will test their physical and basketball smarts through NBA style skills tests and basketball drills. The two-day selection camp starts at 9 a.m. on March 11, with the final selection of Visayan finalists to be announced on March 12. This is the sixth time that the Jr. NBA is staging its Regional Selection Camp in Cebu. Over 600 boys and girls from South Luzon came out to showcase their basketball skills as Jr. NBA Philippines 2017 presented by Alaska staged its second Regional Selection Camp February 25-26 at Manuel S. Enverga University in Lucena City. NBA Introduces Significant Initiatives to Enhance Performance, Training and Development of Referees

The NBA announced today a comprehensive plan to further strengthen its officiating program.  The introduction of several new initiatives continues recent efforts to bring additional transparency to the program and use advanced technologies to enhance the performance, training, development and recruitment of referees. The announcement follows a thorough six-month review of the NBA’s officiating program conducted by recently-appointed President, League Operations, Byron Spruell, who oversees Basketball and Referee Operations at the league office. “Our focus with these new initiatives is to build on the already-existing strengths of our officiating program and ensure maximum effectiveness of our officials,” said Spruell.  “With an eye toward continuous improvement, these measures will put our officials in an even better position to succeed in this demanding role and reinforce the NBA’s commitment to transparency.” The NBA is launching an Officiating Ad...

A record-breaking 1,479 young athletes from all over Mindanao showed up at this year’s first Regional Selection Camp of Jr. NBA Philippines 2017 presented by Alaska held February 11-12 at Xavier University. Jr. NBA/Jr.WNBA Philippines 2016 All-Starts Experience Basketball and Sights in Shanghai

The 2016 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines All-Stars had an unforgettable NBA experience in Shanghai, China from October 7 to 10 with fellow Jr. NBA standouts from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The Jr. NBA All-Stars from Southeast Asia  played exhibition games with their peers, engaged with NBA Legend Vin Baker and toured famous landmarks including the Bund, Yu Garden, and Nanjing Road.  To culminate their Jr. NBA experience, the group watched the NBA Global Games Shanghai at the Mercedes Benz Arena featuring the Houston Rockets and the New Orleans Pelicans.
