Team Rondina bows to Spain but keeps hopes alive in round-of-twelve


Rondina and Gervacio put up a gallant fight before losing to Spain's Paula Soria and Maria Belen Carro, 20-22, 21-23.

The Philippines' Karen Quilario and Lot Catubag stayed in contention in the loser's bracket with a 21-13, 18-21, 15-11 win over Hong Kong's Yuen Ting Chi and Au Yeung Wai Yan.

The two remaining Filipina pairs will play in the round-of-12 today.

Earlier, DM Demontaño and Jackie Estoquia were eliminated after losing to Germany's Klinke Leonie and Lisa-Sophie Kotzan, 16-21, 12-21, while Charo Soriano and Bea Tan also exited after bowing to Canada's Megan Nagy and Caleigh Cruickshank, 12-21, 15-21.
